Reaper 2.13 The Devil and Sam Oliver – Recap
Posted by: | Comments
When Nina returns from Hell with the information Sam needs, he challenges the Devil to the game he’s best at. However, when it comes to a draw, Andi is forced to make the ultimate sacrifice.
At the Work bench, a new greeter, Mary Pat, is greeting customers. The gang is astonished and repulsed by her enthusiasm. Tony hasn’t gotten back to Sam on translating the scroll that Mr. Oliver sent from Hell. Sam goes to the stockroom and finds a boom box playing circus music. When he picks it up, he finds himself teleported to a street corner and a shrine to Jimbo the Dancing Monkey. The Devil is mourning the death of his favorite monkey. He gives Sam the file on the newest escaped soul then asks Sam to dance for him. When Sam refuses, the Devil reminds him who owns whose souls and puts a fez on him. Sam has no choice but to dance as everyone stares.
As Mary Pat continues to greet everyone, Sam bemoans his fate to Sock. The new soul is Roger Lund, a drug dealer, and the vessel is a machete. Sock is busy setting up a new paint mixer and it goes horribly wrong. A can goes flying, just missing Mary Pat as she picks up a lucky coin. She explains that she’s protected by lucky fairies and wanders off.
The guys go to the trailer court where Roger lives. They go inside and find the place covered with toads and Roger, relaxing on the couch. He asks for the chance to get high before they send him back, and Sam reluctantly agrees. Roger starts licking toads and then grows a giant tongue. He attacks Sam and tries to pull him into his mouth. Sock manages to grab the machete and sends Roger back to Hell.

Reaper Recap: “The Good Soil”
Posted by: | CommentsMorgan offers to pay Sam $20,000 if he helps him catch the latest soul, Billy Boyland. Billy it turns out went to Hell for merely coveting his neighbor’s wife. Before they capture him, Billy pleads with them that he’s still a virgin and just wants to lose that before he’ll go back. Bill takes them to a local bar where the woman he coveted on earth, Cindy, hangs out. Cindy is now recently divorced and Billy and her end up going home together. It’s true love and Billy convinces Sam not to send him back.
The guys try and use the vessel (a dodgeball) on Billy’s corpse in the graveyard. It works and they turn it into Gladys. Later, the Devil informs Sam that now an Ender is coming to get the soul and it’ll be far worse for Billy… his soul will just be destroyed. However, before the Ender can get to him it just turns away, probably because of the true love it’s no longer coveting. Meanwhile, Morgan shows up at the end and nails Billy with the dodgeball, capturing him. Tough break. Sam goes to visit Billy’s grave and sees Alan, the guy who got out of Hell, who takes off running.
Kristen refuses to continue things with Sock now that her father is home so Sock attempts to bond with his stepfather by going fishing. On the fishing trip, Sock tells Morris he likes his daughter and Morris says she’s too good for him. Sock tells him about their history and Morris attacks him with the fishing rod. At the end of the episode, Kristen leaves to go back to Japan.
Ben, meanwhile, has his two month anniversary with Nina coming up and she wants to take him flying. He’s nervous but agrees to do it on their anniversary. He’s hesitant and when h etells her, she tells him how she got over her fear of blood. She chucks him off the rooftop and flies down to catch him. He ended up liking it.

Reaper Recap: “I Want My Baby Back”
Posted by: | CommentsOn last night’s Reaper, Sam was able to dispatch the lost soul pretty quickly, but dealing with her baby she left behind was a whole different issue.
Known as IBOH (Intentional Birth Out of Hell) in the Reaper universe, these babies must return to Hell just as their lost soul parents do. So was good guy Sam able to send an innocent baby to Hell just because the Devil told him to?

Find out what happened to the baby, how Morgan ended up on a date with Andi, how Sock went through a chemical castration, and what happened to Sam’s dad in our “I Want My Baby Back” recap.
Here’s some of our favorite Reaper quotes from the episode:
Gladys [about the baby]: Oh, an IBOH.
Sock: What’s an IBOH?
Gladys: Intentional Birth Out of Hell. It happens. Souls have been known to escape from Hell to have their children here. Better schools
Sock: You know, it’s like your talking. I can hear the stupid words coming out of your mouth but they have no meaning.
Ben: Take me and Nina.
Sock: Nope.
Ben: We’re friends, but we have our sexual side.
Sock: Yeah.
Ben: But then we keep it it in a box and take it out when we need it. We enjoy it. We play with it. Then we put it back in the box when we’re all done.
Sock: There is no box that contain this sexuality, Ben. All right. Uncontainable. That’s how I was born. In fact, the delivery room doctor said I was the sexiest baby she’d ever seen
